Le projet « BHARGAL », commande d’œuvre faite à Xavier de Richemont par le Ministère des Affaires étrangères français, l’Ambassade de France et l’Institut Français à Delhi pour l’ouverture de « Bonjour India 2017‑2018 », est une création vidéo picturale et musicale inaugurée le 18 novembre 2017 au Fort d’Amber, à Jaipur, en présence des autorités indiennes et françaises.

BHARGAL, contraction de Bharat et Gallia, se compose de trois actes. Les deux premiers présentent, sous forme de tableaux juxtaposés, les grandes étapes culturelles et historiques de l’Inde et de la France. Le troisième acte fait converger ces univers en une série de compositions hybrides où arts, sciences, architectures, paysages et symboles se superposent pour créer des visions surréalistes.

Fondée sur trois valeurs - beauté, complémentarité, harmonie - l’œuvre propose un dialogue visuel et musical entre les deux nations, célébrant leurs singularités autant que leurs résonances.

The BHARGAL project, commissioned from Xavier de Richemont by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the French Embassy and the Institut Français in Delhi for the opening of “Bonjour India 2017–2018,” is a pictorial and musical video creation inaugurated on 18 November 2017 at Amber Fort in Jaipur, in the presence of Indian and French authorities.

BHARGAL, a contraction of Bharat and Gallia, is composed of three acts. The first two present, through juxtaposed tableaux, the major cultural and historical milestones of India and France. The third act brings these worlds together in a series of hybrid compositions where arts, sciences, architecture, landscapes and symbols overlap to create surreal visions.

Grounded in three universal values - beauty, complementarity, and harmony - the work offers a visual and musical dialogue between the two nations, celebrating both their singularities and their resonances.
